Thank you venerable Presidents Washington and Lincoln for being born so close on the calendar that the government consolidated the days into one federal holiday.
Thank you ARAG my wonderful employer who selected this day as a paid holiday.
I'd also like to thank the Norwalk school district for holding classes as scheduled today so this Mom could enjoy an actual day off to do whatever she pleases.
The fact that this day off involves vacuuming, laundry, repairing a hole in a shirt, grocery shopping and fixing dinner is okay. I will accomplish all of this and maybe more before I go to bed tonight with multiple hours of peace and quiet where no one will ask me a question, request food or bother me for anything at all.
I will start the day tomorrow refreshed, patient, feeling accomplished.
On the other hand, maybe I'll just lay in bed and watch tv in my pjs all day. Yeah, that sounds more like it.
